“Vehicle electrification business”

Regarding the Ministry of the Environment's FY2025 supplementary budget "Commercial Vehicle Electrification Promotion Project" (a collaborative project between the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), the executive organizations, the Japan Environmentally Friendly Vehicle Promotion Agency and the Japan Automobile Transport Technology Association, announced on March 8 The company announced that it will begin accepting applications for subsidies from the public on Monday.

This project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, with the Ministry of the Environment playing a central role, and aims to reduce vehicle prices and accelerate innovation by providing subsidies for the introduction of vehicles and charging equipment for the electrification of commercial vehicles. The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions from vehicle operation and improve price competitiveness.

Specifically, businesses that have created ambitious introduction targets and businesses that will be affected by the transition to non-fossil energy due to the obligation to create medium- to long-term plans based on the "non-fossil energy transition goals" based on the Energy Saving Act. Intensive support will be provided for the cost of introducing electrified (BEV, PHEV, FCV) commercial vehicles (trucks, taxis, buses) and charging equipment.
